A meme found on Moe's blog 2 years ago.
Instructions: Copy the first sentence that you posted in each month of the year.
Which of course I did not follow exactly, because I’m a rebel. In some cases I've shown the first two sentences or more because; I often post a photo first with a caption so it is not technically a sentence. I’ve included the title of the post for more fun and I have linked to the original post. It was a fun review the last few years and I thought I'd do it again this year.
What is always interesting to me is that I post more often than I think I do. I’m not a daily blogger by any means; I do have things to say just not the time to post. So, as with rewiews, I was surprised at how often I do post; a lot more than I thought I did. I’m not surprised at the number of photos I post since I’m a very visual person.
January - Butt for the bows
Now that the holiday festivities are over it has been non-stop excitement around here. Today I cut the bows off some of my new underwear.
February - Indigo Mo-chullo
Details for the knitters. I held a strand of two colour coordinating Fleece Artist yarns together throughout the knitting.
March - I made soup; as March came in like a lion
I pretty much followed the Lively Up Yourself Lentil Soup Recipe with a few additions
April - uncomplicated, yummy
I love cooking shows. One of my favourites is Chef at Home hosted by: Michael Smith; his philosophy on the show and style of cooking are the same as my own idea of how one should cook.
May - Ten Green Bottles*
I have been slowly sorting through my brother's things. After Peter died, I sorted out his clothes and items to give to charity. I also found all the items he had bequeathed to family and friends. His collections I put aside to deal with later. He collected coins, antique bottles and movies.
June - Fiddling for supper
One of the first tastes of spring are the Fiddlehead
July - Happy Canada Day!
A day to wave the flag.
August - Alien
Echinacea, commonly called Purple Coneflower looks like something from outer space when the petals are just beginning to form.
September - Lull before the storm
The Echinacea are still in bloom.
There is an eerie silence today, not a bird singing. Every now and than a Blue Jay shrieks, than silence.
October - Happy Thanksgiving
I can't have my parents over to my house any more. I don't have a ramp for Dad's wheelchair. My front steps are too steep for him to attempt even with assistance. Even at Mom's house where she has fewer steps, it takes considerable effort for Dad to get inside. Today (Sunday) I will take them out to a restaurant for a Thanksgiving meal.
November - Robin wonders... just how long is a minute?
A little dog sighs on the East Coast.
December - Crafter vs. pattern writer
I consider myself a crafter. I like to figure out how to make things. Ideas for what I make come from many sources, could be a finished item that I’ve seen, however more often than not something totally unrelated will spark the idea for the object that I end up making. I generally do things instinctively switching between knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery in one project.
From The Queen's Christmas broadcast - 2008
"...genuine human happiness and satisfaction lie more in giving than receiving; more in serving than in being served."
The rewound abbreviated version of 2008 on the East Coast.
