Teddy was a Christmas gift when I was 8 years old. Though Teddy is pink, he is always referred to as he. He uses to have felt eyes though they were lost in one of the many baths he had in the washing machine over the years. I sewed on old fashion, glass, shoe-button eyes however; my cats keep chewing them off… After many years of service as confidante, and comforter. The odd stint as plaything to various cats. Teddy now lives happily on a vintage pine rocker in my bedroom.
Dolly is older than me by about 10 years. She was a gift, when I was born, from my Grandmother. My grandmother had knit, crocheted, and sewed a whole wardrobe of clothes, and blankets for Dolly. I use to have a stroller & pram for Dolly. Dolly is wearing a dress that was mine as a baby. Dolly now lives on a shelf in the spare bedroom that I use as a studio, craft, & computer room.
Do you still have a childhood toy? Show me... Remember when everyday was about make believe?
From a childhood on the East Coast.
These photos were taken at different times during the day, the colour of the shawl on the chair is truer in the second photo with Dolly. This post idea was swiped from a Vox Hunt question that I answered on my Vox Blog.
