I love how the light comes into this room. It is a small bedroom at the back of the house, yet it has the best light all day. In the morning, the rising sun gently awakes us. At night, we fall asleep to the sound of the peepers, crickets, and the window full of stars.
The room is not entirely finished it still needs baseboards, and we have not yet decided if we will paint the wood floor or refinish it some day.
The purple blanket you see is one of my vintage wool blankets it is really a single bed size however if you put it on sideways it will fit a double or queen size bed. You can get vintage wool blankets for less than $20.00 at second-hand stores and even less at flea markets or yard sales. For some reason people think wool blankets need special care. I wash them like any blanket and though I have put them in the dryer, I prefer to hang mine outside to dry. I rarely use a dryer, as I am a bit of a clothesline nut.
There is a chill in the air on the East Coast.
