I knit a modified ChicKnits Bucket Hat from the frogged BUP yarn.
My modified BOC features a crocheted brim with a crab stitch (reverse single crochet) finish.
The hat was knit and crocheted with two yarns held together as both are thinner gauge than the recommended yarn.
Wool-Tyme cotton crepe DK: 100% cotton
Colour: plain purple.
Caprice fashion DK: 76.8% cotton 23.2% rayon yarn
Colour: dark purple with a black slub
I love working with cotton yarns, and I've never understood the distaste many knitters have for this fibre. It may have been all the crocheting I did with a 1.00mm hook and #20 Opera thread, or maybe all the weaving I did on my loom using cotton threads. I've never had a problem with cotton, I love the look and feel of cotton yarns and the fabric they create.
I'd link to the BOC pattern however Bonne Marie does not seem to offer it any more, I can only see the BUP in her ChicKnits Original Hand Knitting Patterns Cataloge.
More volunteers at the edge of my woods.
