There is only one LYS in the city, it is only open late on Thursday evenings until 6pm, LK YARNS is a tiny treasure chest of wonder, softness and colour. I went there just to buy a 4mm circular needle.
This followed me home.
It is a Fleece Artist Amelia's Helmet kit ($30CDN).
I didn't buy it for the pattern, nor do I intend to make the helmet; I bought it for the colour and softness of the yarns. I adore FleeceArtist yarn, my LYS has a large selection. The Fleece Artist studio is about a 45min drive from town, I would love to get there this summer, it would be pure bliss.
There are three yarns included in the 'kit':
large skein (50% kid mohair - 50% wool),
fuzzy skein (78% mohair - 13% wool -9% nylon),
Boucle (94% Mohair - 6%wool).... all very soft.
Since the yarns in the 'kit' were measured out for a hat I'll be knitting a hat too, just a different style.
I will play with yarns tonight and see what they would like to be... a handpainted purple-hued dream.
...but, they look so real?
A play day on the East Coast.
